A Mandala Vinyasa journey through the wisdom of the Elements & Shamanism.
The course has evolved through creating a connection between each Element and its corresponding Chakra. The intention is to bring healing to our first four energy centers, which represents the surrendering of the ego identity to “a being of trust”. These four chakras relate to the corresponding 4 elements of Shamanism according to Mexica Tradition. The elements and prana points will be accessed through a Mandala Vinyasa Flow, each based on the 4 main group of muscles of the leg. This ceremonial work will also be reinforced with Mantra, Indigenas Dancing & sealed with Sweat Lodges/Temazcales.
- 5:30am -- 6:00am Beach Meditation
- 6:00am -- 8:00am Mandala Vinyasa Flow based on a Chakra/Element/ Groups of Muscles
- 9:30am -- 11:30am Vinyasa Flow Methodology
- 2:30pm – 4:00pm Muscle liberation through Yin
- 4:00pm -- 6:00pm Mantra / Indigenas Dance based on Shamanism
- 6:00pm -- 6:30pm Chakra Meditation
During the course we will have 3 Temazcales / Sweat Lodges (Day 2, 5 & 9).
- Mandala Yoga – Vinyasa Flow
This is how we will open the gate of our physical layer. The practice works towards a firm intention, such as chakra/ element/ group of muscles, following the main stucture of Ashtanga Vinyasa.
- Sun Salutes / Warm Up: done in a spiraling way around the mat, this is a preparation of the group of the muscles which will be observed.
- Standing / Seated: vinyasas of poses that continue massaging the group of muscles, here deeper contemplation will be reached.
- Closing Sequences: maximum contemplation and the sealing of energy through different methods.
The Methodology behind each sequence including its intention, will be described in detail.
- Muscle liberation through Yin
Chi cultivation and the awareness of Prana will be the intention of these sessions. In order to access subtle elements such as the nature inside of us, introspection is required. During these sessions we will follow up with the group of muscles worked in the Mandala Flow. We will look in from different perspectives, trying to reach a deeper level of subtlety, following the premise “the stiller you can be, the deeper you can hear”.
- The Shamanic Part of The Course
We will be activating our energy through ritual dances practiced in native Mexican traditions as well as other spiritual traditions around the world. Specifically, the Aztec dance is a strong and energetic dance that represents the movement of nature, the elements and different power animals. It’s a very ancient ritual that helps us connect with our inner strength, moving in harmony by forming a circle and beating with the sound of the drum. It is known as a warrior spiritual practice.
Also, we will awaken our energy with gratitude and joy in community by chanting powerful medicine songs as well as mantras in a unique way. Music and dance is the underlying essence in all spiritual traditions and cultures around the world. Sound is the primal vibration of the universe by which we reunite and harmonize.
- The Chakra Meditations
As it’s been studied and experienced through centuries, each chakra resonates at different frequencies, and works on a specific aspect of ourselves. We will dive deep with intention into each one of them through meditations accompanied by special sounds and music to enhance our inner process.
- The Temazcal
"Temazcalli" (also called Temazcal) literally mean “sweat house”. This is a place that represents the womb of our mother earth, where we unite to thank and pray to the great spirit, to connect with the four elements, our ancestors and with the guardian spirits of the four directions. It is a purification ritual practiced for thousands of years all around ancient America, which helps us heal body, mind and spirit. We bath in vapor that arises from the fusion of water infused with herbs and burning stones, while chanting, reconnecting with our most ancestral knowledge, and working on personal intentions. There are four “doors” or “phases” of the ceremony, each one representing a different element, direction, aspect of ourselves and stage of human life. The temazcal provides different benefits. Some of them are:
- Physical health: Relaxation of muscular system, improvement of circulatory system and body Detoxification.
- Mental/Spiritual Health: Cleans our energy field/aura. Helps work on our character, reassures us and makes us stronger mentally and spiritually, building a greater personal will. Helps create and strengthen connection with the elements and nature that surround us.
- All together
The Mandala practice prepares the body through muscular activation. The Yin Yoga creates deeper introspection, a transition from the outside to the inside. The Shamanic aspects of Mantra & Dancing will take us out of ourselves, ego dissolvers. The Mediation is the portal between body mind and soul. The Temazcal accesses the deeper knowledge of nature and our ancestors, creating limitless healing of past and future generations.
