- Course Overview
Description: The course will be for current teachers and yoga students who have a committed yoga practice. As a platform, we will be developing knowledge of the Yin practice, with an experiential understanding of how it applies to each of our unique structures/ bodies. We will be further researching our bodies and bones, one by one, next to each other in Range of Motion comparisons. This will give a systematic insight that empowers teaching asana with greater wisdom than any standardized or formulaic approach. As such will use the modality of applied anatomy to work towards integrating a Target Area approach when we practice.
We will also understand why the Yin practice is fundamentally different than a dynamic yang experience and will get to tangible grips of why its process and technique is a bridge into meaningful and effective seated meditation.
Why is this course different? For the first time we will be taking the Range of Motion tests that give insight into a students skeletal variation understanding, but now the learning will be linked to their own daily Vinyasa routine that they practice or teach. Each test and their varied outcomes will relate back to a students yang practice in detail, each pose or sequence, with an open forum of review and discussion. We will now go beyond the Yin practice and poses to fully nourish the understanding of how the laws of tension and compression affect the daily dynamic practice that we know and love.
