Book Yin & The Energetic Body

Yin Yoga is learning to listen to the body experience, performing stillness postures, held for extended periods of time to develop our awareness inwards. The Yin practice initially relates to grounding & physical release, yet with practice and awareness we can discover the world of energy within. We learn to recognise imbalances, blocks or over-concentrated areas of tension that we hold; to restore & harmonise our life force, to a personal balance of flow & grace.

The Yin Approach

Yin’s Approach is taught ‘Functionally’ whereby postures relate to specific target areas of the body, within the varying experience of all students. Postures are held in stillness for periods of time, applying progressive tension to the connective tissue of the body, requiring awareness and skill to achieve its special benefits.

Yin Yoga is an in-depth, transformative practice that attracts a broad range of yoga practitioners, especially moderate to experienced Vinyasa Yoga students & teachers. Drawn to develop their yoga experience beyond dynamic and formulaic approaches, it can be said that Yin develops a practitioner’s experience of deeper Self-knowledge and provides a bridge towards meaningful meditation.

Yin can be taught to go beyond musculoskeletal anatomy to understanding and balancing energy within our subtle realm which encompass- the physical, emotional and mind layers of the body. Therefore, the Yin discipline becomes a natural portal into a practitioner’s feeling & psychological world, opening us towards wholeness & healing.

Content

In this course we will review the basics of Yin’s Functional practice and build our learning towards relating, experiencing and adjusting the energy within ourselves. As to this, the practices will develop to transcend the physical and become more subtle-body focused. We will look at working with our body sensations, the meridian system and the emotions within, and how the quality of this flow can affect our perceptions, states & behaviours.

We will further learn an introductory appreciation of our intrinsic elements that are inherent and how they coincide to the Chakra system of the spine.

Important Info

Yin is for all ages and experience levels, yet it requires careful and systematic knowledge and guidance, to ensure effectiveness and safety.

This course offers a next level journey to a deeper physical experience; practitioners can use Yin to support physical recovery and healing, as well as inner inquiry and further inner-work.

For teachers, this course offers a deeper option for their teaching; which translates to transformative group experiences and developing experience and knowledge for workshops, retreats and 1-2-1 therapeutic applications.

Students attending this course should be aware that some of the content will address early life programming and our family of origin archetypes and conditioning. Discussions will include our day-to-day symptoms of energetic imbalances and other personal & behavioural orientations within our lives.
